On Her Goals for the Internship:

“I came in here with a goal to learn more about cloud computing and AWS services, and that’s exactly what I did. I even had the opportunity to implement a couple of the services myself."

On the NorthBay Experience:

“I'll always remember and will forever be grateful for the everlasting experience I had here and the impact of this work term. Everyone at NorthBay went out of their way to make me feel part of the team, and I was really impressed by the passion they had for their jobs and for helping me learn the ropes. “

Highlights of Projects Worked On:

A NorthBay Gaming Client

I assisted in building a solution from scratch that dealt with data organization by using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Glue, and Kinesis data streams.

NorthBay Solutions

I worked on updating the NorthBay website chat-bot by providing a dynamic search that collects titles and links based on the solution section on the website. I was introduced to a botui and cheerio for the implementation of web scraping, which helps the user navigate the website by search key to help them find the right resources. I was able to design this interactive chatbot from scratch using botui and javascript.

A large NorthBay HealthTech Client

I conducted research into Okta verification Authorization to find answers that will ensure that the architecture design can work with such verification requirements, which meant using Websocket API, Spring Boot, and AWS DynamoDB, Lambda, and SQS to program a verification solution.

On Getting Her AWS Certification:

I am extremely grateful for NorthBay giving me the chance to take the AWS Cloud practitioner Exam. They guided and supported me in the process, and gave me the confidence to study hard and pass the exam.

Advice for Future Co-op Students:

Be open to trying new things and take the time to learn new tools or services. Also, don’t be shy to ask for help or ask questions, because you will see how willing everyone on the team is to answer and helping you.
